Shadows creeping dark and deep, swirl around me, try to keep
all my hopes and dreams without, to leave me empty and filled with doubt
I try to fight them, try to win, this great battle of mortal sin
but never knowing, never sure, of where I stand there seems no cure.
In my dreams I stand alone, aware of all the seeds I've sown
some so terrible it makes me sad, I can't make them right in the dreams I've had
Then slowly again the shadows creep, mocking and laughing, they won't let me be
I search for the light where I know I'll be safe, but these shadows come to steal it away.
Within my heart I know the truth, to find a way this I must do
to right the wrongs and try to heal, these wounded souls i know are real
My sins before me, I cannot see, the tears have fallen, how could this be?
to hurt another and cause them pain, I pray I don't go there again;
I stand and fight the shadows alone, because of all the seeds I've sown
and I pray someday that I will see, someone I've hurt who'll smile at me...
to know forgiveness and love's true worth, the greatest gift to have on earth.

Hi,
A very readable rendition of guilt, regret, and
redemption. Who hasn't been there at least in
one of the categories?
Nice one!

Deep,
like a confesion to a priest! I liked the flow of verse well written, and worthy of reading, not like so many others here! Write on,
