Best intentions

Contributed by spike on Wednesday, 13th January 2010 @ 02:43:43 AM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

The resolutions I have made
to try and make them better years;
grand ideas and escapades
that end in guilt and tears

the magic diet, shameful gain
career change - still on hold
that abdo chair, S/M pain!
the singles club? I felt so old

pilates, what was I thinking?
throat singing only left me hoarse
body piercings left me clinking;
sailing put me right off course

of things I thought within my grasp
I declare I am now absolved:
to start with more useful goals
is what I have resolved:

to face myself in all my flaws
to re-open some of those closed doors
to take care not to burn all spans
and make more realistic plans
to plan my life change day by day
and enjoy the chaos that comes my way
to bring a smile to someone’s face
and make the world a kinder place

each month will see one thing gained
each month will see one thing gone

and by year’s end I’ll feel the change
(just don’t make the list too long)

I liked it. And your resolutions. The magic diet part was funny. I'm going through that now.
