Every Night

anguished
|
I've grown accustomed to the rain,
I've come to know the deep'ning mist,
I've learned the schedule of the night,
From first moonlight, and stars' first kiss,
To when the film of dew is lain.
I know now what, for me, will be
When I lay down my head to sleep.
I know that I will be alone,
To walk in darkness, light unknown,
I know that I must be alone.
First drops the sun o're craggy peaks,
And gone are rays that lend me hope.
And then through clouds the moonlight leaks.
The mockery of light falls down,
Blue and cold, and seeps around
And yet can't soak the hardened ground.
And I am left in dim twilight,
Yes I am left alone to fight,
Forever left alone to fight.

I have often felt this way. Always left and feeling sometimes utter dispair. I still have hope though, and I hope that you won't lose yours. This was very nicely written. |

Hi,
The anguish and lonliness is tangible.
A beautiful poem whose words are truly
meaningful.
