No Title

With spikes and chains on, I walk into a Sunday Social.
Sitting down they take my order but that’s all they want with me.
Everyone watches and stares, as I eat my meal.
When I am done I walk to the bathroom.
I take my purse off and lay it on the sink.
Water runs over my eyes and my spikes and cloths come off.
I slip into a very elegant red dress and high heels.
With my hair down and nice makeup on, I reappear at my table.

The waitress comes and tells me that this table is occupied.
Then she looks around and whispers to me that it is cursed now too.
I look at her in the eyes and tell her loud enough so everyone can hear,
“I pity all you who are ignorant to the world outside of these walls.”
I then tell her that I was that woman sitting here.
She didn’t believe me, but then she looked deep into my eyes and saw it was me before.
She runs off and cries.
Everyone stares and is quiet.
I stand up and leave my bill pay and a 100 dollar tip.
That place will never be the same because of me.
I made them see that looks can be deceiving.

So true...its the curse of human nature to be superficial. I like this poem, i can identify with it and i agree with what you are saying in it.

Great write challenging the way people judge appearance, really enjoyed the strength of attitude running through this and the delivery of a life lesson that maybe at least one person will learn from
