well it's been quite a while
since I felt your hand in mine
and I could feel it shaking
like everything was alright
and it's been a while
since you were by myside
laughing and pointing
out cars missing headlights

and it's been quite sometime
since I saw you in that light
I swore it wouldn't burn out
when I kissed you that warm night
Maybe my naviety was hiding
in your eyes
Just one look, and I was hooked
at I love you at goodbyes.

oh oh oh

Or maybe it was more than that
maybe it was real
and everything I thought I felt
I actually did feel
and it would be the first time
I've said those words and thought
inside and outside
that nothing could go wrong.
and that every fight we had
would only make us stronger
and every smile we shared
I'll wish had lasted a minute longer.

oh oh oh

Maybe you were afraid of something
you knew you wouldn't feel back
and that keeps my bright eyes
affixed on walls of black
thinking of a time
when I could call you too
and everytime I'd say I love you
youd say I love you too

Giving you away was the hardest thing I've ever done
You were the best thing and the worst thing that I've ever fallen for
I loved you more.
