Inner Smile

I was drowning in a pool of tears,
Consoling myself from my worst fears,
The road ahead seemed so far,
Seemingly unreachable with even the fastest car,
Loneliness was my greatest friend,
With a sigh, I thought….to the very end,
I talked to the sun and laughed at the moon,
Not caring that I looked like a goon,
Days came and days passed,
Questions in my heart left unasked,
But now I am not the same,
Because you changed me for the better after you came,
You made me feel worthwhile,
By touching my inner smile.

I didn't see any comments on this and thought, "well that's sad". I would hope that something this sweet was at least seen by the person it was written for.
Sweet and thoughtful, that's what this is.
