Have you ever chased away the shadows
because they caused you to fear
Have you ever hated yourself
for hurting everything you hold dear
Have you ever looked pain in the face
and said I just don't care
Have you ever cursed at the world
for the weight you can't bare
Have you ever hurt yourself
by vainly cursing His name
Have you ever watched the sun bleed
wishing you could do the same
Have you ever cried at night
because you couldn't in the day
Have you ever just stopped talking
cause you didn't know what to say
Have you ever stopped hiding
cause you didn't know where to go
Have you ever been scared of falling
and coming up with nothing to show
Have you ever looked at the sky
noticing it was the color of your tears
Have you ever cried into your hand
and see images of your fears
Have you ever had an answer
and swallowed what it was
Have you ever stopped living
cause life doesn't go how you thought it does
Have you ever made your fists bleed
from beating yourself down
Have you ever wanted to run away
thinking you're not good enough to stick around
Have you ever felt your heart strings
only when you nearly go insane
Have you ever given up on life
cause it will never be the same

| A beautiful encapsulation of self doubt anguish anger and frustration in dealing with Life!The last line stands out for me, have you ever given up on life cause it will never be the same, Change is something we naturally fight against but something we have to accept |
