My New Life Beyond

Contributed by bjschmieder on Tuesday, 5th January 2010 @ 01:08:10 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I've been sitting around this old life for way to many years,
Not enough laughs and way to many tears.
Trying to figure out where it all went wrong, and what I did wrong
These wasted years that I have spent. wondering why?

Searching for something to go beyond,
Beyond my waisted years,
Beyond every heart beat,
Beyond every heartache and tear!

Pushing and pulling, it's tearing me apart,
Poking and prodding an underused, broken heart.
This dark velvet curtain that hides my soul,
Living this life has taken its toll.

Im begining to see the light, the curtain has torn,
Tumbling down all tattered and worn.
Born again, revealing new life, a child within,
Born free of hate, of suffering and sin.

I stood myself up and said this old life has got to go
Now my eyes see what has never been seen,
Striving forth happy, confident and bold.
Into a place that's unfamiliar but heavenly!
Into this new life beyond my spirit will go!
Living and laughing, loving it all,
The darkness has gone, replaced by the light!
I gave up the darkness to go to my new life beyond
