missing the elegance of an impossible love
the rain princess, like a fallen angel,
succumbs to self-illumination
(the halo quakes)
heaven is torn
& though attaining a structure of simplicity,
& freedom from the wind
she could no longer taste creation
after the rain. . .

Yes, a very sad poem indeed. I can imagine the emotion that inspired such words and I am intimately familiar with them. The last two lines I believe to be the saddest in this piece. To not anticipate or even imagine the newness the rain drenches everything in, is completely pain-filled. Almost hopeless, even. Very well written, elle.
