Where The Rungs Begun

Contributed by brasco on Thursday, 31st December 2009 @ 05:03:15 AM in AEST
Topic: abstract

To wander where the rungs begun
Where all the prose beguiled the sun
And set ablaze the yester years
Leaving old men drying tears

For darkness came and went the same
So all they name would suffer blame
To right the wrong that came about
To sing a song with whisper or shout

Take control and lose the way
Climb the rungs out of the fray
To heights esteemed on day’s morrow
Where a little luck the heart might borrow

And see how green this other side
Where dreams and wishes do collide
For all the prose beguiled the sun
Now I wonder where the rungs begun

like a Monet, you paint a picture with words and then say to the world, see what you will. A deep write that pierces the skin.

Happy New Year!

Hey,
I really fell in love with that poem while I read it. It's wonderful, it has that special melody of its own that makes your thougts sing...anyway, there is that one passage that disrupts this constant state of flux:

'To heights esteemed on day’s morrow
Where a little luck the heart might borrow'

It simply doesn't fit when it comes to measure and all that stuff. Apart from that, I really admire the writer of that miraculous poem ;P

I really love this poem. My favorite part, the part that really stole my heart, was at the beginning where it's "to wander where the rungs begun" and then again at the end where it's "now I wonder where the rungs begun". I feel like those two lines really represent the entire poem. A person starts out looking for a way to achieve dreams, wandering to the rungs, if you will. Along the way life starts to become convoluted. Suddenly wrong and right are jumbled as they were by the immortalized witches of Macbeth. Eventually you might catch a break and find your way out of the war for success and into the light, climbing the rungs out of the fray, but watch out for you might realize you've lost the way back to that latter, wondering where the rungs begun. I apologize if that was a little long-winded without much kick, but I really do marvel. I wonder if it's better to be lost fighting the battle with allies or to be alone in the promise land.
