It's the Little Things

Contributed by kdoe on Monday, 28th December 2009 @ 11:50:14 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

I find myself looking at my reflection searching for who I was. The person I was with you. The life I had with you, the life of love.
We we’re stupid, we fought all the time; I’d cry myself to sleep way too much. You cheated, you lied, I lied, we broke up, we made up, and we just hurt each other.
But holding hands under the table, that’s what I miss. I miss your big brown eyes, and your goofy smile you’d get when I walked in the room. I miss how you would hug me. And the late night phone calls when you were upset.
After it all, I hated you. I got so fed up with everything, and I just focused on the bad. I totally missed the good parts. The little things that made me love you.
So after it all is over, and far passed, I seem to be learning that I’m not so mad that it’s over, I’m happier that it was.
For everything we went through just made me who I am now. So I look at my reflection, and instead of finding who I was, I found who I became and the lesson I learned from love.
