The Gift

Contributed by SimplyAnthony on Monday, 28th December 2009 @ 07:58:59 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

I see you everyday,
every morning, every night,
i don't mean to scare you,
i don't want to cause fright.
i admire you, i really do,
and i want to give you a gift,
a gift that you would like,
so without further ado,
here's a gift from me to you
i fell in love with you from day one,
the first day of school,
when you walked by me during class,
and had a smile on your face,
and when i saw that smile,
it reminded me of something,
it reminded me of love,
it made my insides warm up,
like cookies, fresh from the oven,
like popcorn freshly popped,
it felt so good,
it made me feel like i knew you,
like i knew you for years,
and when i said hi to you for the first time,
i couldn't believe what i heard you say,
you said hi back,
i was glad you did,
but when you said, "Do i know you?"
my sad went back in,
my stomach went cold,
my heart shattered,
my eyes swelled up with tears,
i didn't say anything back,
i just walked away,
and if your hearing this right now,
i hope you hear what i have to say,
i lay on my bed everyday,
thinking about you, asking myself,
what would it be like,
what would it be like if you knew me,
the real me,
not no fake person,
not no made up lies,
pretending to be what i am,
because of what society wants,
the real person in me,
if only you could know,
that what you did to me that day,
burned my insides
like an egg on the sidewalk,
like plastic in a microwave,
like a person on the sun,
it's really hot,
and so are you.. so here's the poem i wrote,
from my mind to you..
