I Fall

I am falling
falling so,
slowly
as I fall I remember
what it felt like to be whole
to know that I was needed
to know that I was a piece
of a greater picture
as I fall I realize
I will never be warm
I'll lie on the ground waiting
underneath a blanket of my own loneliness
for I make no sound until walked upon
but by then it is too late
my place is filled by another
I think this all while I fall
fall to the floor of a barren earth
one who is not forgiving
one whose prisoners she will not
let escape death
all this crosses my mind as I fall
and knowing there is no way
to keep this from happening

I really enjoyed reading this poem x The title you've used, and the reference to falling in
the way you have described it so clearly is very cleverly done.
Experiencing falling is the very definition of one's own insecurities....
This line speaks out the most to me:-
"I'll lie on the ground waiting underneath a blanket of my own loneliness"
Perfectly penned x
