There's blood on the streets of the town of Mohammed
The blood on the ruins in the the town of Baghdad
There's trouble in the streets with the focus on Saddam
There's streets wailing horns from the fear in the sky
There's much going on in the market town
There's bombs thrown in anger to anyone around
There's mothers calling names at the kids in the street,
There mumble of prayer beneath the kids feet
There's Shells from the tanks as they aint from the beach
The walls of the town they are being breatched
There's people clothed in shrouds with death on there mind
There's angels dressed in khaki with lasers they find
There People saying stop and not in our name
The soldiers kill and kill and disguise the shame
We beg our lord almighty, we must stand tall and true
We must beg for forgiveness as there's nothing we can do

Hi Demon, like most of the people who read my stuff dont see, i'm not writing it from any side, you said "what we're doing over here" but the soldiers in the final lines are iraqi, the bombs in the second verse about the market could have been anyone's, the people in shrouds are the suicide bombers. and the first verse is all about the shock and awe night, no matter who died the blood was there.
And the lord, well if you read the old testement in the bible, he is the god who then split up in the new testement to create other religions, so he's everyones god"
Easily explained, reread it unbiased now! |

There is no place fot God in War. In 1914 the british soldier knelt to pray in the bottom of his trench..........100 yards away across the shell torn waste of "no mans land" the German soldier was praying to the same God
The idea that we can be forgiven our sins is a myth. They stay with you all your life. You just learn to live with them
The first poem on my list "Praying can't change the rules" pretty well sums up what I am trying to say |

i'll tell you this, my grandfather was killed in WW2 by a german sniper 5 days before the end of the war, he joined up in 1939 and was a commando, dont even bother telling me about God, i wrote the god bit to show that "God" if there ever was one was originated from the one and only in that book of fables called the Bible, thats the justification, if anyone is religious "God" was born from an early mans thought. i've said enough |

jl69, We are absolutely on the same "wavelength". If you wouldn't mind reading a couple of poems I wrote in January
"Nothing stays the same" and "There's got to be a better way" you'll see what I mean.
I know this sounds like a commercial but you might also enjoy my very first one "Praying can't change the rules"
I will work back down your list over the next few days. I like the way you sumarise the "God" concept. |
