Dreams For Plans

Contributed by Alexa_Bachtel on Sunday, 27th December 2009 @ 07:30:19 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Wake up in the morning and watch you
Still sleepin' in my bed, it's so sweet,
I'm touchin' your skin and thinkin'
About all the things we've gone through
All the goodbyes we've told to each other
All of the promises we've ever given
About the way the time's changed us, love,
And the way we've changed our dreams for plans.

I wanna know if you remember
How we've once been dreaming
That we'll never fall apart
The way you held my hand
And told me we'd make a family,
But the time's changed us
And now we're too busy to dream
Cuz of a million things we're doin'
So our dreams startin' to fade
As we changed our dreams for plans.

I remember how I could sit next to you
Long considering something on your hand
Got heated in your embraces and whisper
In your ear something stupid like I love you,
Then I still badly spoke in English
So you chuckled at the way that my words
Sound in transfer but nevertheless you knew
All the things I was about to say, boo...
But now it far and don't matter anymore

I wanna know if you remember
How we've once been dreaming
That we'll never fall apart
The way you held my hand
And told me we'd make a family,
But the time's changed us
And now we're too busy to dream
Cuz of a million things we're doin'
So our dreams startin' to fade
As we changed our dreams for plans.

What's happened to us, darling,
And where we have gone astray
Cos we both still remember
That time when love was on our side,
On our side...

I wanna know if you remember
How we've once been dreaming
That we'll never fall apart
The way you held my hand
And told me we'd make a family,
But the time's changed us
And now we're too busy to dream
Cuz of a million things we're doin'
So our dreams startin' to fade
As we changed our dreams for plans.

I really like the way this poem can bring a smile to the reader's face while simultaneously make one sad.

Also makes me wonder what happens to people? Why and how they can lose that spark?

Very nicely done and thank you for an enjoyable read.

Tim
