You stretch out your arms, to hold me once more
But I ignore your request and stare down at the floor
You walk up to me and lift up my chin
I gaze over to the left, not wanting to give in
You grip my hand, and tug me near
Pulling me close and kissing my ear
My heart starts to race, as your lips caress my face
Upon my forehead, the tip of my nose, and the surface of my lips
You push me near the frame of my bed, and raise me up by my hips
I wrap my legs around you, wishing I never had to let go
Your cell phone constantly rings but you whisper a heartless, “so?”
I tell you to lay me down and that I could wait
Knowing deep inside that this interruption was just fate
Examining the number that was trying to get through
You shake your head and gently smile, unsure of what to do
I advise you to answer before questions start to arise
I could tell you were worried by the look in your eyes
You position yourself in the left corner of my bed
You signal me to come here and cross your arms behind your head
I rest my head against your chest, with so many angry words to say
Regretting that I let you back into my life for only just today
You stroke your fingers through my hair, and look me in my eyes
It wasn’t until that exact moment that I finally realized
You are the same person…….. just with a different face
Your mind is in the same location…but your heart…is in a different place

This was a good read from beginning to end. I liked how you referenced the two different views you saw from the beginning person to the final one and how you described them as different faces. |
