Glass pain

Every beat of the heart mourns
I feel the death of my soul again
Each breath brings back a memory
It clamps itself into my mind
A longing for loneliness to leave
In all the dreams I could see
And the questions no one answers
They push me towards the edge

Why did I have to cry for this
Where did all those tears go
I put my whole soul into words
Feeling only little shards of pain

Behind the window pane I see you
But you can't hear my song of glass
I hold you with all I have to give
But I can't feel you, it's too late

The past calls for a repeat of joy
Pronouncing what I could never see
And future tears want to take me over
Closing every eye that might open me
Is there meaning in this, I ask
Is there someone to hold me, please speak
And all the questions no one answers
They push me towards the edge

Angels fly without wings
Stories talk without words
Songs forgotten in their lyrics
And my heart stops to beat

No doors opening anymore
Nothing to hope for without God
That's what tears me down
When my heart stops to beat

Beautifully written, it holds so much sadness and mystery.
