Suicide

Contributed by Lynds on Sunday, 20th December 2009 @ 04:45:17 PM in AEST
Topic: anguished

They come at night when Im all alone
The room is dark and the wind howling in sympathy
They are hiding in the shadows, watching me
The rain falls hard and does not relent
They wait and glare
Shift and stir
The house is empty
Nobody here but me, I whisper
I lie and wait, there is nothing I can do
No cars pass by, only shadows through the night
They pounce and thrash and rip at my skin
Nobody can hear me when I scream
They pound in my head and rush through my veins
My blood starts to boil and bubble under skin
I feel like im being held under water
Gasping and thrashing and struggling for breath
I cant escape, cant turn back now
Blood starts to seep and drip from my wrists
My eyes squirm and roll back in my head
My lips dry, cracking with pain
My throat burning, begging for air
My heart pounding faster and screaming for me to STOP
My mind fighting back forcing me on
Flash backs of pain, misery, too many tears and just enough despair
I begin to relive each bad word, like a knife through the heart
Every single punch thrown, painful in its own right
Anger builds and explodes into life
Screaching and groaning, lashing out at old foes
As I begin to cry I hear a whisper
No more tears, soon it will end
I shudder violently realising what I have done
I tremble in fear, greater than ever before
Still shaking I scream "Where will I go?"
Then darkness falls, complete darkness
And for the first time complete peace.

Wow I have to say that this poem has spoken to me the most out of all that I have read.
Mostly because I can relate to how you feel here.
Amazing poem
