Fade Away

Contributed by Taizy_May520 on Friday, 18th December 2009 @ 08:15:00 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

What exactly have i done wrong?
Do i really deserve to feel this way?
I've felt this pain for far too long.
The pain of life making me sway.

I've hurt many people that i love,
the ones that mean the most to me.
I just can't find a way to rise above,
a way to let go and feel free.

My world around me is falling apart,
everything has come crashing down.
How can i mend a broken heart,
when all I'm able to do is frown?

Not everyone know how i feel,
in front of many i wear a mask.
These wounds wont be easy to heal,
it will in fact be quite a task.

I'm tired of the life I'm barely living.
I never seem to get any rest.
Maybe my life is what needs giving?
That way, I think would be best.

It feels like the only way to rid the pain;
to simply vanish without a trace.
Like bits of dirt, washed away by the rain.
Or just another missing person case.

Just like the ending of a bad rhyme;
I want to be like a heavy fog at night.
Here for only a very short time,
then before you know it, out of sight.

you have expressed the pain and the questions and the continuing anguish of trying to mend a broken heart in its entireity its a personal process and it puts you in a different world so affects all around you. With time though you can heal and put the mask away

such pain said in this, and pain is not a simple task, but I agree that one day you will remove that mask.

I feel the pain that you describe and I can honestly say that I can relate. I feel as if I hide behind a mask in front of others.
Great poem. Take care
