Smallest things

The smallest things mean so much
We fail to notice what we get so often
It seems unimportant but really do touch
Until it’s gone away and in a coffin
A kiss goodbye or saying goodnight
We don’t think much as it happens
But one day without brings sleepless nights
The smallest things are our days amen
Overlooked by many
I see the pain it keeps away
One word is all I need, any
But without it I feel astray
I lay here tonight
Wishing I would’ve saw
That one simple sight
One I cannot draw
It feels like I have lost my might
This one time I go without
Her sweet smile and words goodnight
I’ll sleep now, my heart in doubt
