Worthwhile

Contributed by Rakerman1999 on Friday, 18th December 2009 @ 04:36:00 PM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

She kissed the kids and said good night
She locks the doors, turns out the light
And sighs

It's time for lovers to caress
But all she has is loneliness
She cries

The empty nights since he is gone
She changes clothes and lays upon
Her bed

Her body where his once had been
She sleeps, and there are visions in
Her head

It's midnight on the ocean shore
They lay together like before
As waves wash over bodies bare
He runs his fingers through her hair
And eye to eye and hand in hand
Sweet love is made upon the sand
They speak of their forever dreams
Forever didn't last long it seems...

It's 1 am and she is up
Coffee's warm, she'll have a cup
And stare

At pictures on the fireplace
She sees his warm and loving face
He's there

His spirit in her heart still lives
A memory that always gives
A smile

And lets her know she has the will
Reminding her that life is still
Worthwhile.
