Broken Wings (End of Time)

Contributed by devils_denial on Thursday, 17th December 2009 @ 04:13:03 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

I think back to all the tears that I‘ve cried
Somewhere back in my childhood my heart must’ve died
For each day I have multiple faces
Most of the time I avoid awkward embraces
How can this be, through the misery that always lasts
The hard times make me afraid to ask
But to my friends just so you know
You can run to me if you need me, and I will never leave
I just need, something or someone to believe in
As you probably can see
It's a little thing to be true, what shall I do?
Real friends help me get through
And If they knew I was in trouble
They would help me, I’m sure they would
Cos real friends keep your hopes up and make you feel good
When I was younger, I used to give my mum hell
Maybe it was cos I didn’t understand her or she didn’t understand me
She got angry one day and yelled
Are you ever going to change?
I told her yeah, but it one way or another
I’m always going to be the same
Until the lord decides it’s my time

So mend my broken wings
By sending your angels down
To heal me once again
To take away my pain
Then I can fly away,
When it’s my time

What can I do with my life to come out on top with a win
Should I take a chance and go out on a whim
To make new found friendships
Just so you know, I don't get out the flat much
Since a past broken friendship got me out of touch
I haven’t smiled in a long while
That’s why I write in the depressive style
My outlook on life is me alone...yeah solo
Watching people talking their voices in slow mo
For quiet times I like to disappear, so I can release my emotions
That’s how usually my writing sets itself in motion
I shut myself away from this cold, cruel world?
I’m thankful that I have a little girl
She keeps me going from day to day
All she has to do is smile and I know everything is okay
That’s why I’ve decided to stay
Until the lord decides it’s finally my time

So mend my broken wings
By sending your angels down
To heal me once again
To take away my pain
Then I can fly away,
For when it’s my time

Who’s going to tell whether I’m right or wrong
To live this life my way all along
Got to remain strong in this world full of haters
They’ll try and get you by snapping like alligators
To even it all out you got to have your givers as well as takers
With my writing talent I hope people don’t envy me
I just let my mind flow then I can express my feelings easily
I can let go of my struggles and find time to breathe
Must keep the peace for the sanity of people around me
Then there is nothing that we can’t achieve
In times of danger don't freeze
Follow my lead and I’ll give you advice in times of need
A ounce of trust, honesty and loyalty and then we can be free
So when it’s my time to die
And eternally rest in the peaceful skies
I hope you all will remember me

So mend my broken wings
By sending your angels down
To heal me once again
To take away my pain
Then I can fly away,
For when it’s my time

Cos when the angels come down
To take me away
I hope the memories of me
And my poetry
Will always stay
Until they can find
The end of time
