Another Lonely Night

On this winter day, loneliness stings
I am nothing but the sum of jagged, jaded parts
Acceptance depresses but rebellion suppresses
This all consuming need
So long I’ve been without
A truthful, loving touch
A warm bed I’m always welcome
Arms to run to for solace
Alone
Perseverance feels fruitless
Brute force is useless
Finesse is absent
Monologues run long and bait the cage
Insanity looms, gloomy and infinite
No end in sight, no reason to fight
Pour it out, drink it down
Another lonely night

Far too many times we all feel like this. I love the harsh nature of the words from the first stanza and the warmness of the second. |
