A darken corner hides my face
as travelers pass me by
each one longing sweet embrace
from someone other than I
the road grows long under the shade
as the twlight nears
the memory of even seeing me fades
gone before the year
bitter leaves beneath my feet
surrendering at last
now I go to take my seat
relegated to the past

This poem feels so real. It had me in limbo
for a while, makes you think doesn't it?
Superb write!
