We are devourers of words;
teeth gnashing against syllables,
masticating conjunctives.
From the raw rendering of verbs
to a warm entree of adjectives,
we sample nouns like connoisseurs;
lip smack consonants—
and with our bellies full,
pick our teeth with
after dinner dialects,
while we sip on portmanteaux
and tip scraps to the illiterate.

What a witty concoction. I simply love it.
& I love a good portmanteau. . . or two.

Hi,
Food for thought!
Great description of how we forage for our poetic
repasts!
