The Monster in my Bathroom.

Topic: HumorPoetry

It's there again! I just know it!
Waiting for me to walk in the room.
It stares at me with a face SO pale,
and huge bloodshot eyes,
that gawk at me in horror as I suddenly realize...
This grotesque monster that drools at me with a tongue like a plate of zinc,
is nothing more than the mirror, above my bathroom sink.
So I stand there, gaping and wonder if this is really me,
as I sink another 'Vincents' and a glass of 'Berocca B'.
Then try in desperation to scrub the lining off my tongue,
as I gasp so hard I wonder if perhaps I've lost a lung.
And I hope I'll stop shaking long enough to put the lid on the tube of paste,
as I see the white blobs that line my sink,
and think, "how much I waste"
Then I turn on the cold water and fall into the shower,
and stagger back into my bed, for just another hour.
But the rotten bed just won't keep still, so as I toss and spin and heave,
and wonder where I was last night and what time did I leave...
I swear to myself that I will never touch another drop,
that is...until the next time,
"oh damn! now where's the mop"?
