No Sleeps

Contributed by b_lee on Saturday, 12th December 2009 @ 01:01:40 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

I look into the mirror of life,
and see the night sky.
I see that all around me, other
stars twinkle brighter than I.

With no hope to compare,
no one cares about that one,
who never bares about their life.
It’s funny that I don’t believe myself.

So here I sit, admiring from afar.
Just as fast as the sun sets, a
thought occurs to me.
Do others stare at me?

From across the universe,
many pause to look,
or perhaps it’s more a glare.
One thing is clear: none shall
sleep tonight, for who knows
if I will be here tomorrow.

I'm pausing. I'm looking, not glaring.

"It’s funny that I don’t believe myself." really cracked me up, because often I don't. I appreciate the vantage point.

I like this poem because it reminds us that we are not perfect
That we all have doubts
But that most of us have the strenght to carry on
Hence we are still here trying
Very human perspective,Thank you
