The eyes of a shark
Are so shallow and dark
They hold no emotion or feeling
Piercing souls with its gaze
The darkness pools in those eyes
Darkness waiting for the moment to rise
It cuts deeper than any blade
And more painful than a dull knife
I saw this look but not on a shark
Lurking deeper in the eyes
Was an onyx heart that spoke through the eyes
The glare is more horrendous on a human's face
I was hypnotized by the eyes and locked into place
Only by focusing on nothing could I see the whole face
It shocked me and I gasped
The eyes stayed the same but the face gasped too
Tears ran down the face as I spoke
My God is this really you?
Is this who you have come to be?
As I spoke the face mimicked my words
Is this truely what I see?
I was such a kind person, how could this be
I never dreamt that this was me
How could I be the ruthless thing that I see

great job i really liked this one... i really liked the end... i especially liked the reference to the black onyx... back onyx can traditionally be used to get someone to go away... which kinda fits with the poem... well keep writting ~Apryl |
