the warming touches, once felt my hand
the kind embrace; vaguely recalled
a name i once engrave; on sand
a name i never learned, to call
a lulling song once reached my ear
the pleasant voice that grants me sleep
the arms that once had held me dear
the arms i’ll never get, to keep
slender fingers that taut with mine; before
of affection, she stroked my hair
says: dear little girl, I am no more
remember! when need be, i will be there
a smiling face once smiled at me and say,
dear little girl, i have to go
without ado she walked away
some stranger i’d never know
i wish i’d learned your name
i wish I’d kept your loving grasp
it’d never be the same
but! you’ll never die; in my heart
mom.
