She laid the plate of goodies out
A mince pie and some sherry
And not forgetting Rudolph's treat
For her pillow, she was ready
How soft and silky feels her skin
As she lay snug in bed
To know the sweetest kind of dreams
Are swirling through her head
The ebb and flow of slumbered breath
Sweet glimmers of a smile
All things magical are in the air
Santa's coming in a while
I gently hold the sleigh bells
Quietly creep across the floor
Then give a little jingle
As I stand outside her door
I love those little touches
Makes me feel I'm still a child
Magic does exist if you believe
Imagination should run wild
She wakes with great excitement!
Fond memories we'll forever keep
And as she opens up her presents says
"Mum! I heard Santa in my sleep!"

Hi,
You're a sucker for Christmas, aren't you ......
go on...... admit it! First you've got me singing
and now you've got me making sure that I leave
all the goodies out in time, and not be awake when
Santa visits! MY GOD!! I'm catching something ....
it's contagious ....... I've caught a dose of the
Christmas berry berry!!! See what you've done!!!

Nice one, young lady!

Fond memories we'll forever keep No kidding, we most certainly do.
And I would like to thank you for helping to bring back a fond memory of mine. A bit of nostalgia, if you will.
Thinking I was five or six because I stopped believing in Santa very early one...anyway, I was probably five or six years old and of course, being very antsy on Christmas Eve and finding it very difficult to sleep. Well, at some point I fell asleep but awoke sometime later that night and still to this day, swear that I saw Santa peeking in my doorway to make sure I was in bed. I even had a more difficult time falling back to sleep after that but I stayed still to make sure he thought I was asleep. To this day, I still wonder if it was my Dad dressed up as Santa...or...maybe it really was Santa.
Anyways, thank you.
Merry Christmas !!! |

A delightful little read, and the best poem i've read about Christmas this year. A reminder of the joys of Christmases past, and it's true meaning.
