Sit in this loft all covered in dust
one arm broke all tattered and torn
well at least I've no metal to rust
wish i was new clean and not so worn
Spiders come to visit crawl all over
bird came to see me try and make a nest
remember when you put me under cover
was your friend told me was the best
I heard your voice the other day
much older for me no need no more
remember days with me you did play
then one day i was just stored away
Wonder if one day a child of your own
will take me down mend this old toy
such a shame now that you have grown
if they mend me i promise i'll give joy
Wonder now if you even remember my name
you've grown for me that's such a shame

This is really poignant for me.
I recently found two toys from oh so many years ago. One was my own
and the other belonged to my grandma.
I still remember their names, and will cherish
them till the day I die. Then they will become
my daughter's toys, loved, cherished, handed down once more......
Thankyou so much x
