Depression

Contributed by DEVZ on Sunday, 6th December 2009 @ 02:08:39 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

I look outside at the sunny sky then close the curtains I wanna die.
I live in darkness everyday hoping the pain will go away
but that's not gonna happen here instead Il keep the pain and fear
I try to hide but that's no good you see its running through my blood
i wonder what will make it better, pills? a knife? mustn't forget my letter
but waking up to a nurse again i realize its not the end
the days keep coming they're just as bad this is why im very sad
hoping for god to strike me down so I can loose this constant frown
my hearts giving up its got no go as for my mind its getting slow
I want to leave this twisted place that's made me crumble and loose my grace
to find somewhere better not near but afar maybe Il find me my own little star
so I can look down and see where I was and chuckle a little maybe because
the depression has lifted its no longer here I can be happy there's nothing to fear
the sun shines brightly I soak it in, chilled out and relaxed with an ear to ear grin.

I have felt this way before. It is good to write down your emotions as they are. It is good to express yourself. Depression is such a cruel darkness because it oftentimes just doesn't allow you to see the light that is shining right before your eyes, and it creates emotions that are really hard to bear. But your purpose is great, and you can accomplish many wonderful things even though it may feel like you're better off leaving this world. People need you. This world needs you. Thank you for sharing your feelings.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
