Empty, hungry, always wanting more
"Never open the forbidden door"
Helpless, useless, like a wand'ring foal
One day power overtakes my soul
Heavens, demons, underneath my heel
Gods and madmen, nonetheless do kneel
Light and Darkness in my shade are one
Time and Fortune by my will are spun
All Existence like a grain of sand
Endless Cosmos clutchèd in my hand
Yet, there's one thing, the untouchèd strand,
Ceding nothing to my high command
Hatred, fury, now arise in me
"Tell me, soulless, what your purpose be."
Aching, wanting, though unknown what for
"You must open the forbidden door."

powerful poem, strong imagery,I like the way you captured helpless as a wandring foul and how you express our place in this world like a grain of sand, well written |

My first thought was "this would make for a great heavy metal song" !! :-).......Try lyricizing it with a gripping, powerful voice, and its reads very well. Dark and powerful. |
