What im trying to be

You may think im simple, may think im small but it just goes to show you dont know me at all

You acknowledged me tonight when the time was right

Why do i always try to be something im not, why do i always try and have something i havent got

Always trying to impress, by trying to capture that perfect dress

Why cant you like me for, not what im trying to be

I've always felt that you cannot live life wearing a mask, because one day that mask is going to have to come off. In the end, you'll always be left with who you really are, and who knows why there are certain people who see only what they want to see? You always have to remain true to yourself, because certain people always come and go...but you're the one who has to live with yourself forever. I think your poem makes a good point.
