Have you ever stopped and wondered
where we would be if you had tried harder,
to be a little stronger?
It seems like only yesterday
That I was making wonderful plans
For our future
Paris was booked and beckoning
But it's been so long
Since I have known or heard the truth
That now my dreams are lost or abandoned
And I'm forever haunted by your faces
And the memory of your sex and kisses
Sex and kisses in your cars
Do you remember?
I still remember - so much
I remember once never feeling so alive
And now I’m the walking dead
Do you remember?
I still can't forget your smile and your touch when we wed,
and how you swore that we would never end
Memories that now slip away
For the ghost of what we once were
Is slowly fading inside of me
But at least there is no more pain
Which is strange, because on that February night
I was ready for dying, prepared to end my misery
And now, now I don't even recognise
The girl I swore that someday
I would love for ever
