A baby raising a baby.

Contributed by silentpwn on Monday, 23rd November 2009 @ 01:08:27 PM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

I get lost in thoughts, thinking about the future,
thinking about this new family I'll start.
Do I really have enough strength for this transition..
Strength in mind and strength in heart?

We never expected this, we always had a plan.
I'm only 19, with a little one on the way.
I just hope this all isn't for nothing,
could this all end up being some big mistake?

We recently moved away, out of my comfort zone.
It's just "us" now, with more limits than ever before.
Over $1000 a month for rent and food expenses,
And we haven't even added in nursery decor.

I'm young, irresponsible, and careless.
My doubts fight through my hope and stick.
I'm scared to find out what kind of mother I'll be.
But, I'm excited to feel the first kick.

Hi,

Well written.

As a mere mortal male I can relate to your
concerns - reminiscent from when I became a
father for the first time. Trust yourself and your
partner. You'll be surprised how clearly you begin
to think. Baby will demand it!

My best wishes to you.

Tommy

i see how you feel. Many new parents feel this way and become a bundle of nerves. If you know your faults then you know what areas in your life you need to correct. Perhaps we all feel irresponsible and careless as you mentioned in your poem. Not to worry, training yourself to become more responsible and careful will help you succeed. Very honest with your feelings. I hope that things are going okay now. Good Luck.
