You Make Me Wonder

You Make me Wonder

So many times I sit wonder
what you'd be like if you were here
I imagine getting to hold you, love you
and shower you with all my care

I wonder what's the first words you'd say
and to whom they would be
I wonder if you’d be sassy
and as hard headed as me.

Would your hair be brown and straight
or blonde and curly
Would you be a tom boy
or just a sweet little girly

I imagine what'd it been like to
get to watch you learn and grow
There are so many things I wish,
I'll never get to know.

Would have you liked sports
or maybe art and poetry more your style
I sure would have loved to read the things
you would have wrote, been able to listen awhile

I have to believe that there was
reason for goodness sake
Why else would you not be here
why else would you He decide to take.

I hope that from time to time
your looking down on me
cause I'm surely looking up
wishing you I could see.

As time passes it seems
the hurt will never go away
I keep putting one foot in front
of the other each and every day.

One day my sweet princess we will
meet and I'll know just who you are
Cause your my daughter, my baby
and bright shinning star

So Lord Thank you for taking her
along beside of you
I'm sure there was a reason,
I just wish I knew.

JD Wright

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
