So I'll Put My Crying Heart Away

Contributed by toomuchfreetime on Friday, 20th November 2009 @ 02:24:27 PM in AEST
Topic: LostLove

My heart is crying
and with every sob
it wracks my whole body
like so many knives
spearing inside

And my heart seems to cry
"Why did you do it?
Why did you let me out there?
Out in the open?
Out to be exposed?
Why did you give me to him?"

And I try to console it
and whisper to it lame excuses
"I didn't know...I didn't know...
I really thought this time for sure
I didn't know it'd end this fast
I'm sorry."

So I'll put my crying heart away
I'll rock it gently to sleep
It's been racing for so long, lately
It's moaning in fatigue
I'll put it in it's little box
And lock it with a key.

Next time I'll go slower
Next time I'll be smarter
But my heart can't bear
To think of a next time now, so
I'll let the feeling hibernate
I'll let it fade away.
Away from me--you thoughts of love!!

Can't you see my heart is crying?

I was truly moved by the relationship between the subject and their heart
So much emotion and genuine compassion
Like two friends who have been for sometime
And have promised to always be there for one another, very touching

The title drew me in and once there I was glas that my eyes had set upon the page.
Yes, breakups are hard, but if there is any consolation to be had here, it's that they give you the opportunity to create magic like this.

They say time is a great healer, I say time doesnt heal, you just learn to live with it.

We all have been here Im sure, where we felt our hearts would never recover, we would always have those walls built around to protect our volunerable self, our heart, but then someone special comes and they have the power and the patience to chip away until those walls crumble.

Agree, it is magic created through heartbreak.
