A walk into gods land
Ive seen never before,
in invitation was send
the feeling was sure
A humble man
with hunger and need,
only my shotgun
1 bullet I speak
my little prayer
before setting my stand
looking up climbing,
an oak trees branch
now tucked away
as deer walk astray
A 6 pointer I see,
ones coming my way
So I lift my gun
and fire away
the shot was off
as he runs, blood is sprayed
As I track his pain
my tears roll away
I can only think
is he suffering, or delayed
Well I never found that deer
and this is what I feel,
pain in myself,
for shooting his ear
Im sorry God
please find my friend
and heal his wounds,
let him run again
