I remember when we first met
When we were so oblivious then
I bet you’d rather forget
All the things you now regret
You flirted, you smiled
That smile that kills me now
Because now that smile you smile so well,
Is for that other gal
You would walk in a room
My heart got warm
Now when you come by
I might as well die
I wish more than ever that one day you’ll see
“Wow she really did love me”
And you’ll hold me tight
Because everything would be right
But waiting for you
Is like waiting for rain in a drought
Because just like that rain
You never came
