You found your man
fell for the dark of his form
someone new to heal
eyes that housed a storm
I stood back and watched
as you drifted away
you laughed off my concern
but you didn’t stay
Oh, why did I
stand idly by
and make myself a fool again
Why can’t I
At least try
Am I not enough in the end?
You, always the carer
weak for the damaged soul
but you do little to heal them
and they won’t make you whole
I tried to get on my feet again
and your fling crashed and burned
I knew that it would happen;
your teary eyed return
Oh, why did I
stand idly by
and make myself a fool again
Why can’t I
At least try
Am I not enough in the end?
Damn you for all this pain
I don’t want your baggage as well
you’ll never learn to heal yourself
and made my life a living hell
Why am I such a hopeless heart?
When's a real love goin' to start?
You found your man
a new face, a new storm
but I won’t be there now
not when he leaves you torn.
