Broken wings

Contributed by LadyRose on Saturday, 14th November 2009 @ 03:50:28 AM in AEST
Topic: StoryPoetry

She sits on the pavement, drenched in blood
her wing was broken ,when she attempted to fly.
She walks home after she cried her last tear
and wiped her face on the seam of her white dress.
"Where do I go", she thinks.
"I am but five years old,how will I get away from the monster?"
She reaches home after a while before it got dark.
She had nowhere else to go.
As she opened the door he grabbed her
slapped her against the wall.
This is what she was running away of
yet it welcomed her home.
The little angel went to bed that night
tears running down her bruised face,
pain throbbing through her wing
yet determined she said a prayer
and hoped that one day she will be big enough to fly.
To fly where angels play
and where there wings never gets broken.
Where there is no monsters
just love and kindness
........a place made just for angels.

It hurts reading this!
I hope it helps you to share your poetic talent.
The screen is getting blurry from the tears reading this poem!
I mean it, one day you will be an eagle!
