It’s been six months
I can barely remember your face
I can barely remember your voice
I can barely remember anything about you…
Why am I still waiting?
Not much has changed
I seem to always initiate contact
I seem to always hope for replies
I seem to always read your empty promises…
Why am I still waiting?
It makes no sense
I know that I should forget you
I know that I should move on
I know that I should do lots of things, but can’t…
Why am I still waiting?

we cling on to the familiar, don't like change especially when we need to move on all poignantly expressed in this poem. |
