Come Back To Me

Contributed by The_Phantom on Thursday, 12th November 2009 @ 02:38:55 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Was it a summer’s day, or an April’s rain?
A fall breeze, or winter’s cold decay,
Which brought back your memory to love me again?
I know you’re gone, and I must move on,

But what you did is open my heart and taught me to live,
When you left, so went my heart, like a house of cards, I fell apart,
Was it your eyes or how the moonlight danced upon your skin?
Maybe it was the smell of your hair,

Or visions of you coming towards me as if you were walking on air,
Was it your touch that sent shivers down my spine?
Love making so sweet, it makes the angels cry,
Was it a divine gift from the man upstairs?

That made me give you everything, to prove I care,
But as life goes, love tends to grow cold,
Away you fly leaving only heartbreak and tears in my eyes,
I await your return for my love for you still burns,

As I wait, the only thing that’s come back,
Is the memory of our love and the tears stained tracks,
I pick up the cards and began to rebuild, staring in the mirror of my mind,
Like a gift from heaven, your face appears,
I turn around only to see, those beautiful eyes have come back to me.

Forever Faithful
The Phantom
