SKATEBOARED DAIRIES

Contributed by daylynn_van_wyk on Tuesday, 10th November 2009 @ 10:49:11 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

A street rider I was
coasting down late streets,
my eyes stumbled upon the blackness,
but I ignored behind hip hop beats.

Flashing lights ran past daily
crooked souls fleeing blame,
absent motivation for better days
liquor and lives poured the same.

The shadows glowed with eyes
I then held my weapon tight
my skateboard wheels could never outrun
but my knife could deflect a bite.

The eyes dimmed in the distance,
worries faded into a humorous smile,
prostitution price drops shocked,
but I declined the poisonous troubles and trials.

The church looked vacant that evening,
the liquor store looked overcrowded,
the addict's ran around selling their lives,
I wondered for change, but it was highly doubted.

Sudden bullets flew passed without courtesy,
I braked before an active drive-by
a spectator to deadly ignorance
an innocent bystander had fallen into the sky.

A young dude laid without a sound
paramedics didn't rush for such a neighborhood,
his fading instrumentals ran on the EKG
a lone warrior marching for the misunderstood.

I then kicked and pushed on home
seeing a death wasn't unfamiliar
yet, I saw a ghost lay down that night
like watching the universe from views irregular.

It was two blocks till I reached home,
a light then blinded the street
my body was lifted by angel wings....
I looked back as this bliss set me free,
and I realised...the dude on the ground was me.

Wow this is a remarkable write.
It's full of wisdom and truths.
It's really sad the things that go on in this world. That's just one reason I live in the sticks.
Amazing write from beginning to the end.
huggs, blessings,
emy

Hi,

A skateboarding nightmare! - and I complain if
it's raining when I go for a walk in the countryside.
Pales by comparison!

Well scripted! I was ducking and diving with you!

Tommy
