The danger is in bleeding out
she may not hold your heart
alas, it is a beautiful idea
but romance is a work of art
The danger is in drowning there
she may not reach out a hand
if you jump in so deeply
you may wash up on deserted land
The danger is in loving so completely
who says she owes it to you in return
for all you know she’ll enjoy the ride
but leave you the one wearing the burn
The danger is in following your heart
she can hide hers behind sparkling eye
and when her passion then chases another
it’ll be you who longs to die
We live in a funny mess of ideas
influence comes from whisper so faint
yet strong enough that love becomes temporary
chasing anything that might be quaint
The danger is in loving her
fickle is what the heart has become
the danger is in loving again and again
because none of it can be made undone.
