The Cracks Appear

I’ve always been the fool
we’re simply animals painted over
images now, of little gods
proud and noble thinkers
a drive to procreate
genes are all that really live on
love lives as long as the memories
hope is a mockery of a dream
the delusion of romantic gaze
a fortune in failed love
the streets of bustling life
has never really changed
it’s the art of semantics
just like everything held dear
I’ve always been the fool
believing in the painting of life
now the crack appear
there is nothing to hope for
but for another pint
and a quick and painless exit.

HAVE never really changed"

I liked it right up until the last few lines...even though I fancy a good pint myself. |

The "Fool" my friend, is the one who
does not see the world in your words.
You have painted outside the lines
with brilliant colour !
( Profound Write ! ! ! )
