anguished

Tonight’s sky bears one less star
As my angel departs
And deals me a scar.
A scar that I fear will be with me for time.
A reminder of that moment where our hearts entwined.
There’s a weight on my chest,
Now it’s harder to breathe.
The lump in my throat is what I was bequeathed
From this beauty of the North,
This dear from afar.
Heaven turns to hell,
My affections now marred.
As I stand on the outside,
Looking in through the glass
To a picture of perfection that it hurts to let pass.
For now I’m abandoned with no key for the door.
Winter enveloped so cruelly,
My soul is left torn.
