and the stream of clouds
passing through the moon – not close –
eddies
the moon a promise of a
different story
and wider sky
listen: one of us will someday live
in a world without the other.
the moon so resolute, tonight
a vague dancer
not lacking partners
these lights will go out
but those stars -
a silence
like scattered flowers
