MY PRECIOUS PAL--PAT

MY PRECIOUS PAL--PAT

If only we could have met at the onset.
"Made up memories" that we can imagine
and n'er forget.
I was a terrible "Tomboy" she was
tiny, and demure.
Both sensitive, cried easily.....
we learned to endure.

"Tea for two," and many a secret too.
To this day we hold them true,
and, probably will until we turn
One hundred and two.
Loyality was her cup of tea, n'er breathed
a word,--upon all of them she sat!
A protector was my dear Pat,

The number of years grew bigger
and so did we......
I was the first to know, she loved Bill so,
A hole in my heart, I missed her,
but soon my Bob appeared,
Long hours, hard work, babies,
and yet our friendship endeared.

A Rose is a gift from God, and so is she.......
My Bob died so suddenly.
Time again reversed, just like childhood
pals, she comforted me,
She showed me how to go on bravely.

Several years ago, I met Pat
in an Art Class.....
Very quiet, subdued, "deep waters"
running through and through.
"Old Man Time" had gotten in our way.
She's everything I imagined in this
poem.........
Winsom wisdom, whole-hearted, and
Wholesome.......

Humor as dry as a cloudless sky
Funnier than a rubber crutch, and
a special spirituality, I try to apply.
Years may have passed us by,
but wherever we may go,
We'll be each other's echo.........

Created especially for you
dear Pat....
With warm love.......Your Pal.......

~"People who love you
people who you love back
people that will always be there for you
through the good times and the bad
they make you happy when you are sad
they are angels that have yet to earn their wings
they are your dearest friends"~

That's my dear Pat........

*Friendship Smiles*

Hi Consue,

This is an excellent tribute to your life-long friend.
She will love this. I did!

The love and respect you have for each other
is wholesome and timeless and will carry on
the wind for many years to come.

Tommy

When something is written so intensely and from the depths of a heart it deserves to be taken note of.
I read, I read again and then a third time.
It's intensity does not dim, like the friendship it portrays
Great work

Very touching poem. Only a fool would discount the value of true friendship.

My grandfather used to tell me, "If you've had one true friend in your life, you've had more than your share."

I'd never argue.

omigosh sweetie, this brought tears to my eyes. Literally. I've a friend
like Pat and she is everything you described in this piece. (We've been
friends since we were 4). You are so right. The depth and beauty of a true
soul cannot be beat. And if we can hold unto that, how lucky we truly are.

Beautiful words from a beautiful soul. As always.

~ Breezy
